Complete guide to adding and managing payment methods for your C-Band Mailbox account, including supported card types, security features, and multi-currency billing for Canada and the United States.
Managing your payment methods is a critical part of maintaining uninterrupted mailbox service. Whether you are a renter in Canada or the United States, C-Band Mailbox makes it simple to add, manage, and secure your payment information. This guide walks you through every step of the process, from adding your first card to managing multiple payment methods across currencies.
C-Band Mailbox accepts a wide range of payment methods to accommodate renters across North America. The following card types are currently supported:
All payments are processed securely through Stripe, a globally trusted payment processor. Your card details are never stored on C-Band servers. Instead, Stripe tokenizes your payment information and stores it in their PCI DSS Level 1 compliant infrastructure, which is the highest level of security certification available in the payments industry.
Adding a payment method to your account is straightforward. Follow these steps:
If this is your first payment method, it will automatically be set as your default payment method. All subscription charges and per-action fees will be billed to your default card unless you specify otherwise.
If you have multiple cards on file, you can designate which one serves as your primary billing method:
Your default payment method is used for all automatic charges, including monthly subscription fees, scan fees, forwarding fees, and any other service charges that appear on your bill.
C-Band Mailbox allows you to store multiple payment methods on your account. This is particularly useful for:
To remove a payment method, click the three-dot menu next to the card and select "Remove". Note that you cannot remove your default payment method without first setting another card as default, and you must always have at least one active payment method on file while your subscription is active.
Your billing currency is determined by the country of your mailbox operator location:
If your credit card is denominated in a different currency than your billing currency, your card issuer may apply a foreign exchange conversion fee. Check with your bank or card issuer for their specific foreign transaction policies.
The security of your payment information is our top priority. Here is how we protect your financial data:
We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication on your account for an additional layer of security when managing payment methods and other sensitive account settings.
If a payment attempt fails (for example, due to an expired card, insufficient funds, or a bank decline), the following process occurs:
To avoid service interruptions, we recommend keeping your payment information up to date at all times. See our guide on updating payment information for detailed instructions on replacing expired or outdated cards.
Can I use a prepaid card? Prepaid Visa and Mastercard cards may work for one-time payments, but they are not recommended for recurring subscriptions because they cannot be automatically recharged.
Do you accept PayPal or bank transfers? Currently, C-Band Mailbox only accepts credit and debit cards processed through Stripe. We are evaluating additional payment methods for the future.
Is my card information safe? Yes. Your card details are handled exclusively by Stripe and are never stored on or accessible from C-Band servers. Visit our Security page for more details on how we protect your data.
